Abel's recommended IVs are +Atk and -Res. A raised Atk stat will make the effects of his Weapon Skill even more powerful, increasing his usability. In addition, his Res is clearly a dump stat, so lowering it further will not make a huge difference to his overall usefulness.

How to Use, Explanation

This build makes use of Abel's special effect weapon refinement. Letting him inherit Death Blow enhances his power to attack twice. To increase his damage output, he is best used as an attack phase unit. He will often be used in Horse Emblem teams, so equipping his allies with cavalry exclusive buffs enhances his ability to OHKO enemies.

How to Use, Explanation

This build makes use of Abel's special effect weapon refinement. Abel's Atk can easily increase by making use of Atk/Spd Solo. Quick Riposte will allow Abel, who has a relatively low Spd stat, to make follow-up attacks and deal extra damage. Abel is a close ranged physical attacker (range = 1). Therefore, when not accounting for the Weapon Triangle, the amount of damage he deals will be equivalent to his Atk minus the foe's Def stat. Additionally, inheriting skills that will allow him consecutive attacks or offer an adantage against sword units will be in his favor.

Abel's Strengths

Extremely Powerful Special Effect Type Weapon Refinement

Abel's exclusive weapon, Panther Lance, allows him to attack twice when initiating combat, if given the special effect upgrade. It cannot activate if there are no sword, lance, or axe wielding cavalry allies within 2 spaces, but using him within an all-cavalry party will make this extremely easy to activate.

This weapon will also eliminate the -5 Spd demerit of his previous 5-Star weapon, Brave Lance+, and rewards him with +8 Atk.

Extremely Powerful Against Sword Users!

Abel comes with the skill Swordbreaker, which gives him a guaranteed follow-up attack against a sword wielder, while also preventing the foe from making their own follow-up attack. This powerful advantage over sword type foes makes him a tough unit.

Abel's Weaknesses

Easily Taken Down With Follow-Up Attacks

Abel has a rather low Spd stat, meaning he will often be on the opposite end of a follow-up attafck. Therefore, the fact that follow-up attacks in general (regardless of whether they are physical or magic) will often obliterate him is his weak point.
