Ancestor's Cave of Rest Rift is unlocked while progressing through A Rift in the Gerudo Desert quest. The quest will appear when the chief of the Gerudo requires proof of Zelda's abilities in mending rifts.
A Rift in the Gerudo Desert Walkthrough

| 1 | Enter the Ancestor's Cave of Rest marked on your map and talk to the Gerudo inside. Afterwards, walk to the left and move the boulder with Bind to find an doorway. |
| 2 | Defeat one of the Holmills here to gain their echo, then move the boulder aside to reveal a ladder beneath it. |
| 3 | Use the Holmill echo to dig a hole anywhere in the sand, but we recommend making one right in front of the solid platform as it leads to a chest with a Golden Egg. Exit the room through the northeast ladder to continue. |
| 4 | Light the two torches with a fiery echo like Ignizol to complete the quest. |
The Ancestor's Cave of Rest Rift main quest is located northeast of Gerudo Town, and will be marked on your map at some point during the A Rift in the Gerudo Desert main quest.
Completing the Ancestor's Cave of Rest Rift quest progresses the A Rift in the Gerudo Desert main quest. You will need to clear the other two rifts marked on your map to continue the questline.
