Past Self in Mirror is amazing for Ruan Mei because it increases her Break Effect immensely, a stat she can fully utilize in her kit.
This Light Cone allows her to provide a lot of things for the party such as the DMG buff, Skill Point restoration, and the party-wide Energy regeneration each wave.
Past Self in Mirror is great for Ruan Mei because not only does it allow her to give more buffs to her allies, but it also increases her Break Effect by a lot. Even with just this, it's already very good because her Ultimate's debuff and one of her Traces has Break Effect scaling.
The variety of buffs combined with her already amazing kit, Past Self in Mirror excels when used by Ruan Mei and she can easily utilize it to its fullest.
Even though she can use other Light Cones such as Memories of the Past and But the Battle Isn't Over, this Light Cone is best in slot for her because of the Break Effect boost and the multitude of party-wide buffs it provides.
Past Self in Mirror is a great choice because of the amazing buffs it provides. Compared to Memories of the Past or But the Battle Isn't Over, Past Self in Mirror has the edge because it has both party-wide DMG boost and Energy regen.
However, the Break Effect boost can be useless if the Harmony character using it does not scale with or use the Break Effect in their kit. Also, the SP restoration would only be activated if the wearer reaches 150% Break Effect, which not all Harmony characters build.
Despite the caveats of Past Self in Mirror, it is still a versatile Light Cone and can be used by any Harmony character.
