If you already have Wastelander set with really good stats, Pioneer isn't worth farming over. Otherwise, Pioneer with its full passive effect is about 8% better in damage output. I agree that unless you have characters like SW or Topaz, trying to get 100% uptime on Pioneer will be a bit difficult, but there are other ways to get debuffs too like from light cones.

nope, this comment didn't age well. He either can't maximise its effects 100% of the time or he'll really struggle getting the effects. 4 piece wastelander or 2 wastelander + 2 ashblazing is still his best sets.
I find it kind of funny that ratio best team will consist of people disliking him for the most part. Same with Acheron and aventurine, he’s literally BiS for the characters who wouldn’t want him.
Btw they don’t have the light cone effect on the actual post but someone in Reddit sent a link to where a preview of his kit was a few days earlier and got the entire thing right so it’s safe to assume the light cone effect has a chance of being right as well with much more of course cause I doubt the only thing it’ll do is increase crit dmg.
I think his signature light cone also grants the whole team crit dmg is anyone on the team gains a shield. Also his e4 and e6 are complete nukes of dmg. He definitely offers much more than the other three sustains. Doesn’t even matter if lest say his shield only lasts 2 turns cause his follow up extends the duration and is easy to get. I’m praying they don’t nerf him though.

And tbh I don’t even think he’ll be sp- unless you want him too. His technique grants him a shield, and he can refresh that shield with coins that he gets from FUA and enemies damaging the shields more so if the shield is a spade. He can stack his shields but that probably won’t be necessary unless you want too.
That’s why i personally believe he might be the next best sustain if he doesn’t turn out sp-. He’s a limited 5 star so no doubt he’ll be able to sustain, offers buffs and debuffs and does decent dmg along the way while having synergy with practically every single dps. No matter how you look at it his kit does look pretty op.
And his kit seems to apply he does decent dmg. I remember someone saying that his dmg won’t be on par with 5 stars but maybe the 4 stars which would still be very good regardless since he could potentially clear waves of Moc on his own and would be insane on the peservation path for su.
thing is he’d still be very good even with bad dmg numbers. He stacks shields and has easy access to them whenever you need. His provided effect resist and deacrrsed enemy hit rate could potentially prevent debuffs from every happening to your team in the first place. On top of that he looks like he can synergize with pretty much any dps aside from blade/jingliu (cause they prefer healers). Not only does he debuff but the increased crit dmg taken can count as a form of buff too.

I mean he can’t block cc like fu xuan or cleanse like huo huo/loucha? He increases teams effect resistance I literally already said that but we don’t know by how much. No doubt he’ll be bis for fua but we still don’t know how good he is or ices worth it without numbers lol
any fua dps can wear the pioneer diver of deep waters relic set with aventurine in the team. easy free crit rate and crit dmg.
wym not party wide when he increases effect res of everyone so the whole team has high resistancr to cc? even his current kit already does more than fx in fua team because he could forward numby and ratio's team way more often.
All I mean is that it’s better to keep exceptions low rather than get excited over someone who does even have animations out yet.
