Chemist job command. Enables the use of healing items in battle. Chemists can use items on units up to 4 tiles away. |
Using items of any kind requires that the character equip the Items Job Command. It is the main command available to Chemists.
Without the Items command, a character cannot use Potions, Phoenix Down, or any other consumable item in the game.

Using an item usually requires a character be standing right next to the item target, but Chemists have the innate ability to Throw Items, meaning they can consume an item and have it affect a target up to four tiles away.
A character can learn Throw Items and equip it as a Support Ability on any other Job.

Just having the Items Job Command equipped is not enough to use an item. In order to use an item in the party inventory, the character must learn the corresponding Item Ability.
For example, using a Potion requires that the character learn the Potion Item Ability. The same goes for any other consumable item.
Once learned, items can be used by selecting the Items Job Command in combat, then selecting which item to use.
