Final Fantasy Tactics - The Ivalice Chronicles has 3 difficulty modes to choose from that you can change at the start of the game. Read on to learn the differences between the Difficulty Modes, which difficulty to choose, and also how to change difficulties.
List of Contents
| Difficulty Modes | In-Game Description |
|---|---|
| Squire | Squire mode features easier battles, allowing you to concentrate on the story. |
| Knight | Knight Mode is carefully balanced to allow you to experience the thrill of battle. |
| Tactician | Tactician mode offers a greater challenge, with more demanding battles. |
There are three difficulty modes in Final Fantasy Tactics - The Ivalice Chronicles, with each difficulty tailored to how the players want to progress the game.
Players can opt to focus on the plot through Squire Mode or challenge themselves with difficult battles through Tactician Mode.

The Knight difficulty option is great for players wanting to experience the intended difficulty level of the game's combat, which can help you explore the plot of the game and battle enemies with their standard difficulty.

The Squire difficulty option offers minimal challenge for players who are interested in exploring the plot of the game, enabling players to journey the world of Ivalice without worrying too much about enemy battles.

The Tactician difficulty option is intended for veteran players returning to the franchise or newcomers wanting to experience a more challenging difficulty when playing the game.

You can change the difficulty of the game by reaching the Play Mode Menu when starting the game. Do note that you can still change the difficulty of the game later during your progress, and that the difficulty won't change the plot regardless.
