Equipping Sticky Fingers allows you to catch and farm rare weapons from enemy ninjas in Final Fantasy Tactics - The Ivalice Chronicles. Learn the best ways to farm rare weapons and which ones you can get!
List of Contents
The Thief's Sticky Fingers ability, when equipped, allows your character to catch weapons thrown at you by enemy Ninjas.
The success rate for catching is equal to your Bravery. Do not max out your character's Bravery at 100, or else the enemy Ninjas will stop throwing weapons at that character!
Rare weapons like the Chaos Blade and the Chirijiraden can only be found normally once and cannot be bought at shops, but you can have enemy Ninjas throw them at you!
Rare weapons are thrown by enemy Ninjas once they reach level 95 and above. By equipping the Sticky Fingers reaction ability, you can catch these thrown weapons and farm them to your inventory.
By entering Mount Germinas from Trade City of Sal Ghidos, there is a small chance you will run into a rare random battle consisting of enemy Chemists. At high levels, these Chemists can carry the Glacial Gun, Blaze Gun, Blaster, and Stoneshooter.
Simply steal these rare guns from the enemy Chemists like you would any other item. For the Stoneshooter, you will need to use a Soft or Remedy on the petrified enemy Chemist first, or have one of the enemy Chemists do it for you.
One of the four enemy parties in the ninth floor of Midlight's Deep, HORROR, consists of enemy Ninjas and Samurais. Simply kill off the enemy Samurais and keep your distance against the enemy Ninjas to entice them to use their Throw ability.
In Chapter 4, when entering Araguay Woods from Dorter Trade City, there is a small chance you will run into a rare random battle consisting of one female Ninja and a handful of male Ninjas.
It is worth noting that the female Ninja will always be 10 levels above the highest levelled member on your party, allowing you to catch rare weapons earlier than intended.
Enemy Ninjas will throw weapons at you based on their level and what abilities they have learned. In order for them to throw Knight's Swords, for example, the enemy Ninja must have the ability Knight's Sword learned.
Additionally, enemy Ninjas will only throw one specific weapon per type depending on their level and ability learned. For example, an enemy Ninja at level 96 will only throw Excalibur and no other Knight's Swords.
There is no way for you to know what abilities the enemy Ninjas have learned. You will have to undergo trial and error until you find an enemy Ninja throwing the weapons you want.
| Weapon Type | Thrown Per Level |

| Knight's Sword | Lv. 92-94: Defender Lv. 95: Save the Queen Lv. 96: Excalibur Lv. 97: Ragnarok Lv. 98-99: Chaos Blade |

| Pole | Lv. 95: Ivory Pole Lv. 96-99: Whale Whisker |
While there is no way to manipulate what abilities the enemy Ninjas have learned, you can manipulate their levels and have them throw different weapons at you.
To increase the enemy Ninja's levels, simply have them successfully land attacks on your units and gain experience. Once they level up, they will throw better weapons.
To decrease the enemy Ninja's levels, bring a Mindflayer monster and place it beside a party member with the Beastmaster ability. The Mindflayer will have access to its Level Blast ability, which reduces an enemy's level by one.
