Use Steal Weapon or Rend Weapon to Disarm Gaffgarion
During this battle, Ramza will be separated from the rest of the team and will be engaging with Gaffgarion alone. This will essentially be a battle of attrition between Ramza and Gaffgarion.
It is recommended that you remove Gaffgarion's ability to use Shadowblade by disarming his Ancient Sword weapon using Steal Weapon from the Thief job or Rend Weapon from the Knight job.
Equip Ramza with Martial Arts
Equip Ramza with the Monk's Martial Arts job command so you can use Chakra to constantly heal during the battle.
Chakra doesn't require MP to heal and has no charge time, allowing you to keep Ramza's health up during the fight.
Monk Stats, Abilities, and How to Unlock
Access Lever to Open Castle Gate
After you've disarmed Gaffgarion during this battle, you can either finish him off or head towards the lever that opens the castle gate so that you can reunite with the rest of the team.
Keep the Enemies at Bay With Other Team
For the rest of your team, you can dish out some heavy offensive damage by using Agrias' Holy Knight skills or Mustadio's long-range attacks, such as Arm Shot or Leg Shot from his Machinist job.
Reinforce Units Using Chemist and Black Mage
You can also use Chemist to provide healing and support for both Agrias and Mustadio, while the Black Mage can further increase your offensive capabilities using high-level spells.
Wipe Out Remaining Enemies in Battle
Once Ramza is reunited with the rest of the team, you can either finish off Gaffgarion if he still clings to life from his battle with Ramza or wipe out the remaining enemy forces in the area.
