List of Contents
Defeating enemies in random battles is the easiest way to earn Gil in-game, especially at higher levels as the amount of Gil you obtain at the end of each battle scales with enemy level.
You'll earn thousands of Gil per battle once you reach Level 50, on top of any items and equipment that you can sell from these battles.
Using the Steal Gil job command learned from the Thief Job is another good way of earning Gil during battles.
The most efficient way to do this is by leaving one enemy in the battlefield and transforming them into a Toad, and then using Steal Gil on the enemy as many times as you want.
| Unit | Abilities | Equipment |
|---|---|---|
| Ramza | ・Mettle ・Black Magick ・JP Boost |
・Thief's Cap ・Akademy Blade (Optional) |
| Ninja (Gil Farmer) | ・Steal ・Brawler |
・Thief's Cap ・Hermes Shoes |
| Knight | ・Arts of War ・Move +3 (Optional) |
・Excalibur (Optional) |
All of your Gil Farmers need to have the Brawler Support Ability to increase the success rate of Steal Gil. Equip as much speed-boosting gear such as Thief's Cap and Hermes Shoes to further increase the chance of stealing Gil from enemies.
At the start of the battle, have Ramza boost your Gil Farmers with Tailwind while the Knight takes out all of the enemies except one. Use the Toad spell to turn the last enemy into a Toad, and then have your Gil farmers use Steal Gil on them until you're satisfied with the amount of Gil you receive.
You can take on Errands in Taverns at the beginning of Chapter 2, and is another great source of passive income. Errands cost Gil to take, but the rewards you'll get from completing them makes up for its small upfront cost.
Errands require you to send away a unit for a few days depending on the length of the side quest, so make sure you recruit enough party members to passively do errands whenever you can. There are three levels of success you can achieve on an Errand with Great Success rewarding the most Gil.
Have an Orator or any class with Speechcraft use Entice to recruit high-level human enemies. Once recruited, remove all of their weapons, armor, and accessories and sell them at shops before dismissing them from your party.
Higher level enemies often wear more expensive gear, so this method is a great way to earn some Gil in the late-game when enemies scale with your own party's levels. You can also sell some of your unused equipment for n extra bit of money.
