Ramza is the best character to work towards maxing character stats with, in part because Ramza can have maximized Faith.

Faith boosts a character's magick attack power, but characters will leave the party if their faith gets too high. Ramza does not suffer from this limitation, allowing him to become an overpowered Final Fantasy Tactics character.

Additionally, because he is present in most battles as the main character, Ramza can gather JP quickly and unlock key abilities like Arithmeticks and Teleport.

Use Mettle and Speechcraft to Raise Faith and Bravery

Shout IconShout 500 MettleMettle A hearty battle cry that increases one's own bravery, speed, and physical and magickal attack power for the duration of battle.

Ramza can't become a Final Fantasy Tactics powerhouse on his own. He'll need a bit of help from a friendly Orator character.

During battle, use Steel, Shout, Praise, and Preach repeatedly to boost Ramza's Bravery and Faith to their maximum. High scores in Bravery and Faith will boost Ramza's physical and magickal attack power.

While the boosts from abilities fade after battle, a small amount raises a character's Bravery and Faith permanently, allowing you to lock in gains over time.

Additionally, the reaction ability Faith Surge from the Bard Job can add more passive gains.

The improved Materia Blade acquired by exploring the Bervenia Mountain map is a key part of Ramza's overpowered build thanks to its whopping +4 Magickal Attack bonus, making it an excellent weapon for high-faith characters.

Meanwhile the Aegis Shield and Septième Sens also boost magick attack. The Chameleon Robe adds immunity to instant death and absorbs Holy magic, while the Thief's Cap increases Ramza's Speed and makes him immune to incapacitating debuffs.

As a specialist in magic attack, this Ramza Build will want access to Arithmeticks and a large selection of spells from the main Mage classes to make the most of his high Faith. Mettle from the Squire/Gallant Knight class will cover other needs.

Level Down and Level Up

FFT - Free City of Bervenia 4 Treasure Location

Take advantage of the Degenerator trap in certain maps (such as the Zeklaus Desert) to deliberately lower Ramza's level, then level up again in a Job with high Magick growth rate.

You'll need to change Ramza's Job to Bard (which has a low stat growth rate), then step on the trap to reduce his level to minimum, then switch to Black Mage (which has a high Magick growth rate) to level back up.

After this cycle, Ramza's Magick should be as high as possible to maximize the effect of his overpowered build!
