The best IVs for Beruka are +Def and -Res. Beruka's strength lies in her high Def stat, so pushing that strength even further is the way to go. Additionally, her Res is nothing special to begin with, so it is ideal for a dump stat.

How to Use, Explanation
This set is based around Steady Stance 4 and Panic Ploy 3. While this build is quite high in investment, it will more than make up for it. When taking attacks from physical attackers, Beruka will dish out damage by counterattacking and delay the foe’s special cooldown.

How to Use, Explanation
This build aims to further increase Beruka’s high Def with Close Def. For the most part, this is an enemy phase build that relies on taking a foe’s attack and then crushing them with a counterattack. Ignis is based on the unit’s Def stat, making it very strong for Beruka. Equipping the seal Iote's Shield will eliminate fatal blows from bow units.

How to Use, Explanation
This build makes Beruka a terrifying physical damage tank. With the +Eff refine on her weapon, she can debuff an enemy unit while accelerating her own Special. Her C skill can be swapped according to what the player needs and Iote's Shield as a Sacred Seal allows her to take out archers. Her defense can be bolstered with ward-stacking on a flier team.

Beruka Roles, Strengths, and Weaknesses
Beruka Roles
Beruka is a close ranged physical attacker (range = 1). Therefore, when not accounting for the Weapon Triangle, the amount of damage she deals will be equivalent to her Atk minus the foe's Def stat. Additionally, her high Def stat allows her to act as a physical wall for whatever party she is in.
Beruka's Strengths
Extremely high Def stat.
Beruka has one of the highest Def stats of all units. This Def will siginificantly increase when her HP drops below 50% through Defiant Def 3 , so as long as she avoids her weaknesses, she is a tough tank until the bitter end.
Move foes around with Lunge!
Beruka has the skill Lunge in her B Slot. It may be tricky to find uses for this skill, but using Olivia's skill Dance or another refresher skill could allow you to divide and conquer your foes (or simply use it to pull a foe closer to a more powerful unit).
Beruka's Weaknesses
Low Spd
With her mediocre Spd stat, Beruka will likely have to eat a ton of enemy follow-up attacks. The solution to this is equipping her with skills to max out her Def so that a follow-up attack will not faze her much.
Weak to flying-effective skills
As a flying type hero, Beruka will still be weak to bows. With her high Def stat, she can usually endure one of these, but her low Spd means that she is likely to get doubled. Use Iote's Shield to work around this.
Lacks heavy firepower
On top of her low Spd, Beruka's Atk stat is nothing special, so it often just does not cut it. Her default special Glimmer does not really help her much, so skills like Ignis or Bonfire, which are based off of the unit's Def stat, are much better suited for her.
