The Prismatic Music Box is essential to complete the Performance Artist side quest. After acquiring the Prismatic Music Box, speak with Dampe and request to create an Automaton. Choose the Performance Artist! side quest and summon a Zol Echo on the middle platform in the center of the room.

Dampe will notice the Prismatic Music Box in your inventory and craft the Gizmol Automaton, completing the quest.
