Gather Required Materials
Gather the required materials as stated on the Layered Scales blueprint. Some armors will require raw materials to be refined, while others may need specialized materials that need to be looted from enemy ships.
How to Get All Resources and Materials
Reach Required Infamy
In order to craft Layered Scales and its enhanced versions, you'll need to reach certain Infamy ranks. Below is a list of the required Infamy for all Layered Scales.

Craft Through a Blacksmith
Once you have the required materials and Infamy, speak to a Blacksmith at a pirate den or outpost and you can start crafting your armor.

Install Armor on Your Ship
Install your newly crafted armor on your ship to the correct slot by going to the Manage Ship menu while docked at a pirate den or outpost, or from anywhere if you're on foot while in these places.
