Resting Chinchou
On research level 3 of Undersea, take the route through the undersea cave. After entering the route and descending a bit, you'll see a few Chinchou individually resting in small holes that line the wall. Simply snap a close-up photo of one of these Chinchou for a 1 Star photo!

Hypnotized by Inkay
Start Undersea at Research Level 3 and take the first alternate route. Zoom in on the first Chinchou to slow down the Neo-One and wait for the Inkay to appear in front of it and perform a hypnotizing attack.
Take a photo of Chinchou while it is being hypnotized by Inkay to get its 2 Star Photo.

Hit by an Illumina Orb
To get Chinchou's 3 Star Photo, you need to start Undersea at Research Level 3 and take the two alternate routes leading to Lugia's lair.
Inside the lair, look to your left to find a Chinchou and a Lanturn. Throw an Illumina Orb at the Chinchou to wake it up. Take a photo of it reacting to the Illumina Orb to get its 3 Star Photo.

Anonymous almost 2 yearsI got no reaction when I hit chinchou with the orb. I followed the 3 star directions to the tee but nothing. I still took a photo and submitted it but it did not count. Um...?

You don't get it with the Chinchou and Lanturn right in front of you as you enter the secret cave route. As soon as you enter the secret cave, it's the Chinchou in the pair on your *left* that will work to get you the 3 star photo. They all look like they're sleeping the way their eyes are lol so wish this guide was clearer. Hope this helps!
