Found Inside the Cargo Bay During Chapter 11

The Cargo Bay is a previously inaccessible location in the Hangar-Cargo-Tram Control section of the Ishimura. While you can see the door to this area as early as Chapter 1, you can only enter it after reaching Chapter 11.

To reach the Cargo Bay, head to the Flight Deck Tram Station in the Hangar-Cargo-Tram Control deck. From there, take the door to the right of the Store labeled Tram Station Hall. Midway through this long hallway, turn right after the Save Station to see the Cargo Bay door.

Chapter 11: Alternate Solutions Walkthrough

Use Kinesis to Move the Boxes and Access the Peng Treasure

Once inside the Cargo Bay, take the nearby elevator down to the lower level. However, instead of engaging the cargo crane, turn left once you get off the elevator. Use Kinesis to move the large blue boxes and clear the way to the locker that contains the Peng Treasure.

Kill the Exploder Before Using the Elevator

There will be a single Exploder Necromorph patrolling the ground floor of the Cargo Bay. To make sure you and Peng are uninterrupted, kill the Exploder before taking the elevator down.

What to Do With the Peng Treasure

Collect to get the There's Always Peng! Achievement

Picking up the Peng Treasure in Chapter 11 immediately rewards the player with the There's Always Peng! achievement. Make sure to grab the Peng Treasure before progressing any further as the latter half of Chapter 11 introduces the point of no return.

Sell at the Store for 30,000 Credits

Once collected, the Peng Treasure will function much like Semiconductors where its only use is to be sold at the Store. Once you're done admiring the figure, sell it at any of the Stores aboard the Ishimura to receive a whopping 30,000 Credits for your troubles.

Multiple references to Peng can be found throughout the Ishimura, living true to the achievement that there is always a Peng.

Replaced by a Text Log in the Original Location

In Dead Space 2008, the original Peng Treasure could be found in the Hangar instead of the Cargo Bay. If you revisit its old location in the hope of finding it early, you will instead get the It's Mine text log whose user details how he or she hid the Peng Treasure from prying eyes.
