Ripper Upgrade Locations and Effects

Upgrades Effects How to Get
Richochet TracerRicochet Tracer Adds the Angled Launcher tree that gives Ripper blades an additional ricochet. Purchased from the Store using 11000 Credits.
Angled LauncherAngled Launcher Deflecting Edges: Ripper blades gain an additional ricochet. Found in the Flow Supervisor's office in Hydroponics.
Carbon-Fiber BladesCarbon-Fiber Blades Ripper blades gain an additional ricochet. Found in a Master Override Box at the Machine Shop in Engineering.

Special Upgrades are brand new items introduced in the remake which extend the upgrade tree of the affected weapon. They also unlock special nodes you can purchase using power nodes which greatly boost the stats of the weapon.

How to Use the Ripper

Tear Through Necromorphs Up Close

The Ripper is a weapon that excels at tearing through Necromorph limbs and inflicting massive damage up close with its remote-aimed sawblades. It also works great for keeping multiple foes at bay, as its sawblades can easily stagger most Necromorphs on contact.

Shoot Blades Toward Distant Foes

When dealing with distant foes, you can use the Ripper's secondary fire to launch razor-sharp sawblades that ricochet multiple times before breaking. This firing mode works best in tight corridors where the ricocheting sawblades can hit their targets more than once.

Launch Active Sawblades with Secondary Fire

While using the Ripper's primary fire, you can launch the active sawblade by using the weapon's secondary fire. Doing this does not cost additional ammo, so it's a great way to maximize the damage output of a single sawblade.
