Dead Space Remake (2023) reintroduces one puzzle that stuck players in Dead Space (2008). Read on to learn how to activate and get past the centrifuge, and deal with diminishing oxygen and lurking Necromorphs.
List of Contents
To activate the centrifuge, you'll need to use the two Clutch Generators which spin on either side of the Centrifuge. You'll use Kinesis to pull them in and attach them to the Centrifuge, but they're spinning too fast and won't attach.
Use Kinesis to pull them close without attaching them, then use Stasis on the spinning part of the Generator to slow it down. Then, use Kinesis one more time to finally pull the Generator into the Centrifuge.
Then, go back up to the platform you started on and interact with the panel to activate the Centrifuge. Now the real fun begins!
|
Right after you activate the centrifuge, head down with the elevator behind you, and take the path clockwise, opposite the direction the centrifuge is moving. In the original game, it was possible to go counterclockwise, but this path is not available in the remake, so be careful!
As the centrifuge is rotating, wait for it to get past you, as as soon as it gets past you, sprint toward the next gap wall to avoid being hit and killed by the centrifuge.
Note: You cannot use stasis on the centrifuge as it is too large to slow down.
Chapter 3: Course Correction Walkthrough
Use the gaps to avoid death. In some of the gaps, there will be Slashers and Leapers waiting for you, so be prepared. You can kill them by using stasis and cutting their limbs.
If a Necromorph chases after you into the centrifuge's path, shoot off its legs and retreat into the gap. It will be killed by the centrifuge when it comes around again.
The gap next to the exit of the centrifuge contains an oxygen tank. You can replenish your oxygen as waiting for the centrifuge to pass by will consume a lot of oxygen, so it's better to be safe.
After playing hide and seek with the centrifuge and battling necromorphs, the last gap wall will be an elevator leading you to exit the centrifuge chamber.
