The Contact Beam specializes in continuous and devastating single-target damage with its primary fire, capable of tearing limbs rapidly and taking down most Necromorphs in seconds.
However, the weapon demands precise aim and proper positioning, as it has a hefty reload time and can run through ammo quite quickly.
When dealing with stronger Necromorphs, you can use the Contact Beam's Asteroid Cutter secondary fire to make short work of them. This firing mode can take down most Necromorphs in a single, fully-charged shot and instantly peels off the tough flesh of stronger foes.
