How to Stomp Enemies: Backbreaker Trophy Guide

In the Dead Space Remake (2023), you can use Isaac's stomp attack to damage and finish off grounded foes. Read on to learn how to stomp enemies and get the Backbreaker trophy.

How to Get Backbreaker Trophy

Kill 10 Enemies with Stomps to Get Backbreaker

Killing 10 enemies with a single stomp each rewards the player with the Backbreaker Trophy. This restriction means stomping more than once to kill a Necromorph will not count towards Backbreaker's progression.

Backbreaker Trophy Not Working

As previously mentioned, you need to stomp on Necromorphs that can be killed in one hit to progress the Backbreaker Trophy. We recommend looking for Swarmers when completing this achievement, as they die to a single stomp and count toward your progression.

You can find Swarmers randomly as you venture through the Ishimura or spawned by Pregnants after shooting them in the belly.

How to Stomp Enemies

Dismember or Knock Down Standing Foes

If you're facing necromorphs that are standing up or climbing on walls, you will have to knock them down before you can stomp on them effectively. You can do this by dismembering their legs, using the Force Gun's primary fire, or with a heavy object using the Kinesis Module.

Increase Knockdown Time with Stasis

You can extend how long a necromorph stays knocked down by applying Stasis on them while they're on the ground. Doing this ensure you can safely land plenty of stomps before they retaliate.

After knocking down a necromorph, quickly close the gap then press the Stomp button to crush them with Isaac's heavy boots.

Since stomping on necromorphs deals less damage than gunfire, you may need to wear them down first with a few shots or stomp on them multiple times before they go down.
