Finish the Game At Least Three Times

New Game Plus Rewards

The Platinum Trophy unfortunately cannot be acquired in a single playthrough. Instead a player may have to complete at least three playthroughs including: one on Impossible, one in New Game Plus on any difficulty (preferably Medium or above to unlock another trophy), and one where they limit their playthrough with the Plasma Cutter.

Acquire the Secret Ending

The secret alternative ending is only accessible in New Game Plus after collecting a new type of collectible, Marker Fragments, and returning them to their mini-pedestals in the Crew Deck before leaving the Ishimura at the end of Chapter 11.

You can already complete the 3 Side Missions on your initial playthrough. Not completing these side mission will not affect how the story will play out, however they do offer a bit of backstory about what happened in the Ishimura before the Kellion arrived.

There are only two minigames available: Z-Ball and the Shooting Gallery. Completing both minigames on any playthrough snags two trophies that may otherwise be overlooked by a casual player.

Last but not least, complete the bread and butter of any video game nowadays: benchmarks. These are unlocked after performing a certain action a certain number of times. While it all seems doable on a single playthrough, reaching a high number of kills such as 1000 severed limbs, may take an additional run or two.

Rough Estimate of 25-30 Hours

Factoring that a lot of these can be taken on a single 20-hour run, bar of course the tricky ones like Impossible Mode Completion, Legend Teller, and Butcher, the Platinum Trophy can be acquired in somewhere between the 25-30 hour timeframe however it would take a lot of focus and dedication.
