The Infector is an enemy type in Dead Space Remake (2023) which is capable of flight and is responsible for creating more necromorphs. Read on to learn the different ways on how to defeat this necromorph.

Infector necromorphs have winglike appendages that help them hover over dead bodies while they infect it and create other necromorphs. Their sole purpose is to infect dead bodies, they often won’t attack you until after they’ve infected all the dead bodies in the immediate area.

How to Beat Infectors

Shoot it While Infecting

More often than not, you will encounter Infectors in areas with dead bodies.

Shoot the Infector as it mounts a body to infect Not only does this land you a free shot on the Infector , this will also cancel the transformation of the dead to necromorphs

Death from Infectors

Isaac's Head Falls Off

Although the primary job of infectors is to infect bodies, it will occasionally pounce on you, and if you fail to wrestle it off, the Infector will keep stabbing your neck until your head detaches from your body.
