Bench

Before starting the Leviathan Remnant fight, stock up on resources at the nearby Store in the Maintenance Locker Room and upgrade your weapons at the Bench at the Maintenance Gondola. Doing this will increase your chances of taking the Leviathan Remnant down and ensure you have enough healing and firepower to get through the fight.

Prioritize Using Long-Ranged Weapons

Dead Space Remake - Prioritize Using Long-Ranged Weapons
When fighting the Leviathan Remnant, we recommend using the Plasma Cutter, Pulse Rifle, Contact Beam, and Line Gun due to their consistent damage output and ability to hit the boss's weak spots accurately from very long ranges.

Use the ADS Cannons From One Side to Another

Leviathan Remnant Armored Sac

There are three ADS cannons on the left, middle, and right sides of the boss arena, positioned in front of each of the Leviathan Remnant's armored sacs. We recommend starting at the rightmost or leftmost ADS cannons, using them to break the Remnant's weak points, then working your way to the other side.

Using this strategy will give you an easier time traversing from one ADS cannon to the next and shortens the distance you need to cover when the Leviathan Remnant drops its explosive mines.

Utilize the Oxygen Recharge Stations

Dead Space Remake - Utilize the Oxygen Recharge Stations

We also recommend utilizing the nearby Oxygen Recharge Stations before and after destroying each of the Leviathan Remnant's weak points to ensure you don't accidentally run out of air during the fight.

In addition, note that the recharge station at the right side of the arena is hidden by a Necromorph tendril, so take it out to gain access to more oxygen while fighting the Remnant.

Avoid the Tentacles in Phase One

Strafe Sideways to Avoid Tentacle Thrusts

During the first phase of the fight, the Leviathan Remnant primarily uses tentacle thrusts to hit you while you fire the ADS cannons at its weak points. You can avoid these attacks by strafing sideways in zero gravity.

Fly High or Low to Dodge Tentacle Sweeps

When traversing to the next ADS cannon, the Leviathan Remnant can also sweep one of its tentacles across the arena. Fly above or below the incoming tentacle to safely get past it.

Throw Back Bomb Pods in Phase Two and Three

Dead Space Remake - Throw Back Bomb Pods in Phase Two and Three
In the second phase of the fight, the Leviathan Remnant will start spitting out bomb pods in addition to its other attacks. You can strafe sideways to avoid these explosive pods or use Kinesis to throw them toward the Remnant's weak spot, allowing you to deal damage while conserving ammo.

Steer Clear of the Mines in Phase Three

In the third and final phase of the fight, the Leviathan Remnant smothers the arena with numerous sacs that act like proximity mines. Since shooting these mines only wastes time and ammo, we recommend carefully flying past them to reach the next ADS cannon.
