Objectives | |
---|---|
1 | Follow the Security Team. Head towards the Flight Lounge and activate the security console to bring up a damage report on the USG Ishimura. Activate the console and wait for scene to play out. Once the Necromorph appears and takes out Chen, Kendra will get the door to the Elevator open. Run towards the elevator avoiding Slashers and wait for the elevator doors to shut. |
2 | Acquire the Plasma Cutter. Once the doors open, approach the workbench to assemble the Plasma Cutter. Pay attention to the writing on the wall right above the workbench. Necromorphs are only killed by dismemberment, this means you should always aim at limbs instead of body shots or headshots. Open the loot boxes in the workshop to gather some ammo, then use Melee to open the lock on the door. |
3 | Cut Off Their Limbs! Open the door and deal with the Necromorph killing the crew member. Head down the corridor and take the first right to Tram Control. Go through the door and get the audio log of one K. Benson, a crew member aboard the Ishimura. Go further down the hallway to safety. |
4 | Get the Tram Running. Get the Tram operational again by replacing the damaged tram and finding the data board. Loot supplies in the room before leaving. Go down the Tram Tunnel and get the Stasis Module by the malfunctioning door.
|
5 | Replace the Damaged Tram.
Use Stasis on the door to get through. Go up the hallway then go to the Tram Repair Room. Get the Power Node from the wallbox and another audio log from Benson from a crate. Open the Tram Shutters from the terminal to bring in the new Tram. Engage the Left Claw first, then deal with the Necromorphs that will pop up. Activate the Right Claw and use Stasis on it while you get to the terminal and activate the Tram Replacement protocol. More Necromorphs will appear before you can leave the room. |
6 | Find the Data Board. Go back to the Tram Station Hall. Head towards the Cargo Bay. Use the Circuit Breaker to reroute power and open the door to Maintenance.Take the elevator on the other side of the room to get to the second floor. Get the key to the Maintenance Bay at the end of the catwalk. Use the Circuit Breaker to reroute power back to the main elevator and the Maintenance Bay. Go back down the elevator and open the Maintenance Bay to get the Data Board. Head back to the Tram Control Room to instal the Board and call the Tram. |
7 | Return to the Kellion. Retrace your steps from the Tram Control room to the elevator in the room where you got the Plasma Cutter. Go up the elevator and the chase hall back to the Flight Lounge and then the Hangar. Go back inside the Kellion and interact with Johnston to run Diagnostics. |
8 | Get to the Medical Deck. After the scene plays out, take out the approaching Necromorphs and head back inside the Flight Lounge. From there, head to the Tram Station and go to the elevator that will lead you to the Medical Deck. |
Contrary to most if not all shooting games, enemies in Dead Space do not die from headshots even if their entire head is cut off from their body. The only way to defeat them is to dismember them limb from limb.
The Plasma Cutter's Alternate Fire allows you to adjust the angle of its plasma rounds. Use vertical cuts for arms, while horizontal cuts for legs. Familiarizing yourself with the orientation of your fire helps in making sure that you dismember a limb with every shot.
While it is understandable that you wish to play with minimal sounds to save yourself from jumpscares, it is highly recommended that you play with the volume loud enough that you can hear the sound of Necromorphs crawling in the vents. This will take away the element of surprise and help you better prepare for the attack.
Whenever you come across a circuit breaker and have to sacrifice the lights, keep your weapon up to serve as a flashlight. It is already dark inside the Ishimura even with the lights on, so killing the lights will just take out almost all visibility around you.
Whenever you approach a large area, you're most likely going to be facing multiple Necromorphs. Look for explosive cannisters. Shooting them can take out multiple enemies at once, saving you time and ammo.
