Leaper
Leapers are known for their tendency to leap from wall to wall as they approach and leaping as they attack. When they’re not jumping, they use their arms to crawl in range and use their stinger tail to attack. |

As Leapers are fast and agile, casting stasis is an effective way of dealing with them as it slows them down and it gives you a clear shot.
When Leapers are in stasis, shoot their arms then followed by their tail to bring them down.
In easier difficulties, and with the right angle, you can one-shot a leaper.
Super-Leaper
Super-Leapers are much faster and tougher versions of the leaper. But the strategy of bringing them down is the same. |

The Super-Leaper noticeably has muddied skin and a dim glow in their eyes. Although in darker sections of the Ishimura, these differences may not be as clearly visible. Additionally they are tougher and even faster, it may take more shots to bring them down than their standard variants.
Phantom Leaper
Phantom Leapers are encountered in NG+. They have a distinct bloodied texture, red glowing eyes, and larger bones that spring out of their body. These Leapers are extremely hard to bring down even with fully upgraded weapons. |

In their appearance, Phantom Leapers have blackened skin, a red glow in their eyes, and a larger bone mass. It is noticeable in combat that they are extremely tougher and faster than their standard and super variants.
In some occassions, Leapers will pounce on Isaac and he will have to wrestle it off.
If Isaac fails, the Leaper locks its fangs on his face and rip it off his body.
