Slasher
The Slasher necromorph’s sole purpose is to kill more humans for the Infectors to infect. Their long, scythelike arms are razor-sharp and lightning quick. They can be incapacitated by severing their legs. Though this will drop them to the floor and slow them down, they won’t die until you cut off their arms too. |

When confronted by a Slasher, it's best to practice shooting their legs first in order to slow them down. This practice helps whenever there are multiple Necromorphs in your area, allowing you to deal with the others while the Slashers crawl.
These types of Slashers have seemingly invincible legs, making it hard to slow them down without the use of stasis.
To kill them, you just have to shoot their arms and their head.
Fortunately these Slashers are as fragile as their standard variants so facing them with a horde is not much of an issue.
Super-Slasher
Super-Slashers are tougher versions of the Slasher. Their skin is slightly darker, and they are much tougher to bring down. The strategy remains the same, however — cut off their legs and finish them off when they’re down. |

In appearance, Super-Slashers have a mud-textured skin, a green glow in their eyes, as well as a larger bone mass. However, it is noticeable in combat that they are far more durable and faster than their standard variants.
Phantom Slasher
Phantom Slashers are encountered in NG+. These Necromorphs have bloodied skin and a red glow in their eyes. They are extremely tough to bring down even with fully upgraded weapons. |

If a Slasher grabs Isaac and he fails to wrestle it off, it will keep biting his neck until it rips off his head.
