List of Contents
As you progress through the game and unlock new areas inside the USG Ishimura, you'll be able to encounter Circuit Breakers at certain points in the story, and sometimes, they are part of how you can progress through the game.
Some of these choices force you to pick between two options as you re-route one power to your current and main objective, and choosing one over the other will greatly affect the flow of the game, depending on your choice.

The best option you can choose to prioritize for the circuit breakers will always depend on the situation you're currently in. If given a choice between a life support system or lights, you would choose one over the other depending on your resources.
As an example of the predicament above, it's best to choose lights over the life support system if you have a sizable supply of air cans in your inventory since you won't have to worry about running out of oxygen when going through the level.
The same cannot be said if you're lacking in the supply department. You're forced to move fast to complete the level, as you'll likely not have enough oxygen to take it slow. This can cause you to panic and miss your shots as your oxygen timer progressively ticks away.
Fighting in the dark is the best choice in this scenario, as the extra life support time can help you pace yourself when going through the level and allow you to save up on your remaining air cans.
If you don't want to be forced to choose between two options and want to experience both paths given to you, you can always create a save before choosing one. After finishing one, you can head back to the previous save and experience what would happen if you picked the other choice.
You only need to get close to a Circuit Breaker to re-route the power to where you want it to be. The choices vary differently across all circuit breakers in the USG Ishimura, and usually, players are forced to choose between options to progress through the game.
