New Game Plus Rewards, Changes, and What Carries Over

As with the previous installment, New Game Plus is also featured in the Dead Space Remake (2023). Read on to find out what New Game Plus has in store for players in the remake.

Does Dead Space Remake Have New Game Plus?

New Game Plus Confirmed!

The official Dead Space Twitter has confirmed that the remake will have New Game Plus as a reward for completing the main story. Much like the original 2008 game, New Game Plus will also come with a few rewards to boot!

All New Secret Ending

Perhaps the most interesting new feature to be announced in this remake; the addition of an unlockable secret ending. Official details are yet to be announced, however players are already making their guesses as to how to get the secret ending.

Level 6 Advanced Soldier RIG Suit

The Level 6 Suit schematic is given to the player after beating the game and starting a save on New Game Plus. This new suit offers 30% damage resistance, and costs 99,000 Credits to purchase at the Store.

50,000 Credits and 10 Power Nodes

In addition, like the original 2008 game, Dead Space Remake still rewards its players with 50,000 Credits and 10 Power Nodes upon completion of the game in preparation for New Game Plus.

New Collectible: Marker Fragments

New Game Plus also brings a new form of collectible, Marker Fragments; small miniature replicas of the Marker. Collecting all 12 Fragments and placing them on the proper pedestals will trigger the alternative secret ending!

New Phantom Necromorph Variants

In the same aforementioned tweet, new Phantom Necromorph variants will be unlocked and added to your New Game Plus gameplay experience. They are one grade up from the Super-variant Necromorphs, having two to three times more health than Standard-variant Necromorphs.

No Impossible Mode on New Game Plus

To much dismay, there will be no Impossible mode on New Game Plus as this will give the player an unfair advantage starting out a new game with fully upgraded weapons. Impossible Mode can only be played on a fresh new game.

What Carries Over in New Game Plus?

Inventory Is Kept in New Game Plus

All items, weapons, suits, upgrades, logs, and credits in your inventory will be retained in your new save file on New Game Plus. However most of these items will not be readily available until you reach the first Store at the end of Chapter 1. There are two special exceptions: the Kinesis and the Stasis Modules will have to be picked up in the same way as a fresh save but they will have retained the upgrades from your initial playthrough.

Master Override Retained

The Master Override Keycard, the reward for completing the You Are Not Authorized Side Mission is also retained in New Game Plus, provided that you already completed the side mission in your initial playthrough.
