Amuro Ray Review

Amuro Ray is a strong pilot with a diverse set of skills and easy-to-meet requirements. He affects a mobile suit's offensive capabilities and can increase its staying power on the field. The only general caveat is that his ranged sense buff is quite low.

On the other hand, his massive resistance buff does come with an unreliable condition. Since you're required to defeat enemy units to benefit from it, this buff is utterly useless against raid bosses that can only be taken down once or don't die at all.

Additionally, he's quite finnicky to use in team-vs-team modes, such as Arena. That's because since the buffs are to his resistance stat, they don't actually affect his position much unless the enemy is using a buff that increases as their teammates fall. After all, normally, the fewer enemies there are, the less damage he would take.

The Gundam is a decent mobile suit that specializes in buffing Green-type allies and dealing defense-piercing damage. Amuro Ray allows it to remain longer on the battlefield and let its allies benefit from its buffs for a while longer, increasing their damage in the long term.
