For immortal revenants, illness equates to deviations in blood power. As such, all status ailments are essentially caused by forced divergences. Research into returning revenant blood to its standard, healthy condition dates back far into the past, with some formae used in drugs dating back to the age of the gods. Consumable items can be used to immediately remove an active status ailment. These items are advantageous due to their high carry limit, but they have the same animation as regeneration items, so timing their usage during combat is crucial.

Status ailments are negative effects that impact the target. These effects range from taking damage over time to being unable to use the Regenerative item.
Both players and foes can be afflicted with status ailments, though boss resistances may vary.
Attacks that inflict Status Ailments will continue to build up, as notably seen by the Status Indicator close to the target's health bar, and will continue to build up as your attacks connect.
Do note that the Status Ailments themselves do not take effect unless the bar flashes red, as this indicates that the ailment has been applied.
The bar will fill even if the Status Ailment that you're trying to apply hasn't taken effect yet, so keep attacking until the Status Ailment bar reaches the required threshold for its effects to activate.

If you often find yourself getting hit by attacks that induce status ailments, you can consume vaccines beforehand to boost your resistance to a specific status ailment.
However, if the status ailment has already been inflicted, you can use consumables such as Sunblight Suppressant to remove it immediately.

Defensive Formae have varying resistances to Status Ailments, with some stats being higher than others. For example, Shield of Stupor is exceptionally well at Wound Status Ailments.
Since Defensive Formae can be changed at any time, try using a different form if the one you currently have equipped is not up to the task.
If you are unable to remove a status ailment, you can allow yourself to be knocked out and then be revived by your partner through a restorative offering. While it carries a certain degree of risk, it can ultimately prove beneficial in specific situations.
How Does Restorative Offering Work?
|
|

You can choose to modify your weapon so that it applies a status ailment when you successfully land an attack. This makes it easier to inflict a status ailment on an enemy.
However, note that reduced stats may lead to lower overall damage output if the status ailment does not take effect. Keep this in mind when facing a boss that is resistant to the ailment you are trying to inflict.

Some Formae can inflict Status Ailments, at the cost of Ichor. They are one of the most effective methods of inflicting Status Ailments, as they can be used with minimal restrictions, with only your Ichor resource acting as a limitation.

|
|
Weapon Salves can also be applied to your weapon to temporarily give it the ability to inflict a status ailment. It is an effective method of infusing weapons with the capacity to inflict status ailments, as weapon salves are compatible with both normal and transformed weapons.
This is a beneficial feature because it allows users to apply status ailments without committing to transform a weapon. The only drawback is the haze cost, as you would need to purchase weapon salves regularly.
