How to Beat Hero Valentin

Parry His Spear Attacks

Hero Valentin has various moves that are determined by the type of mask he is wearing. The most simple moveset he has are his Spear attacks, so we highly recommend to focus on parrying his spear since this completely cancels his entire combo and give you an opening to retaliate.

Keep in mind that you can make use of either the Mutinous Bracer defensive forma or the Reaper jail to effectively parry his spear attacks.

How to Parry

Sprint and Dodge Away from His Lifesteal AoE

Eventually, Hero Valentin will perform an area-wide vortex that pulls you towards him to deal damage and heal himself when it hits you. We suggest sprinting away for the duration of the vortex and dodging just before the green particles emerge to completely avoid the attack and prevent him from healing.

Equip and Use Curse Resistance Items

Once you reach his 2nd phase, he will start performing ranged laser attacks that can inflict Luna Rapacis, which prevents you from healing and banishes your Partner for the duration. In case you do get inflicted, make sure to use a Luna Vaccine or equip the Resistance Booster - Curse to boost your Luna Rapacis resistance and lessen the affliction buildup.

If you do not have the items you need and still get inflicted with Luna Rapacis, make sure to focus on dodging Hero Valentin's attacks until the end of the affliction duration since it only lasts for a few seconds.

You can find Hero Valentin at Luna Rapacis in the Sealed Grounds during the Slaying the Hero Valentin questline. Take note that you have to talk to Lavinia in the 2277: The Present timeline in order for you to access the area and the Hero Valentin boss fight.
