How to Use Drain Attacks

Drain Attacks can be used by pressing R2 or left ctrl and left click in Code Vein 2. Learn how to use drain attacks and the benefits of using Drain attacks in the game.

How to Use Drain Attacks

Press R2 or LCtrl + Left Click

Drain Attack Input
To use a Drain Attack, press the Drain attack input on your PC or console. This is bound by default to R2 for the gamepad or LCtrl + left click for the keyboard and mouse.

Use R2 on a Staggered Enemy to Use Special Drain

Special Drain
If you stagger an enemy, you can press the Drain Attack input to execute a special drain attack. This will restore your Ichor while also dealing massive damage to the enemy.

Hold R2 to launch a Charged Drain Attack

Similar to charged attacks, you can hold down the Drain Attack input to launch a charged drain attack. It's a much stronger drain attack and with you also being invulnerable during the animation window. Consider using it from a safe distance to guarantee recovering Ichor.

Effects of Using Drain Attacks

Restore Ichor When Hitting a Bleeding Target

Bleed Buildup

Drain attacks lets you restore Ichor after hitting a bleeding enemy. An enemy that's bleeding will show a red highlight on their health bar to represent the bleed value from that target. After hitting an enemy with a drain attack, the bleed from that target will be removed.
