No Announcement for Crossplay

The developers have not stated whether there are any current plans to implement crossplay in Code Vein 2.

However, it's possible that a multiplayer mode will be added in the future, as the prequel can be played in multiplayer. It's important to note, though, that Code Vein 1 did not have crossplay and could only match players on the same platform.

Revamped Partner System

Revamped Partner System

Instead of player-controlled allies, Code Vein 2 will have an improved partner system with many improvements over its predecessor. Partners will have unique effects called Link Traits as well as partner trait bonuses and more.

This gives players many ways to use partners in combat and allows them to select the partner that best suits their needs.

Is There Cross-Progression?

No Announcement Regarding Cross-Progression

There has been no announcement regarding the implementation of a cross-progression system. Note that the prequel did not have a Cross-Progression system either, with player saves being confined to the system on which they were played.
