Stagger enemies by performing back attacks, through parry, or successive attacks in Code Vein 2. Check out the different ways to stagger enemies and what's the benefit from doing so in this guide!
|
1. Execute Back Attacks 2. Parry Incoming attacks 3. Use Damaging Weapon Formae 4. Perform Successive Attacks |
Back Attacks have the highest chance to stagger enemeis almost instantly. Crouch and approach enemies from behind and press the Weak Attack input (Left Mouse Click/X (Xbox)/Square (PS5)) to execute a back attack. If enemies do not get staggered from this, immediately follow-up with attacks to try and trigger a stagger.
Parrying enemy attacks inflict high stagger, but the risk is great as well, since a failed parry may put you in a bad spot. Equip defensive formae or Jails that can parry such as the Mutinous Bracer or the Reaper Jail.
Weapon Formae that deal high damage are also a good way to stagger enemies, but the drawback is that they require Ichor. Use these Weapon Formae together with drain attacks to maintain a steady supply of Ichor.
Attacking normally has a chance to stagger enemies, but it's not certain how many successive attacks or how much damage should you deal before an enemy gets staggered, so it's best to try the other methods mentioned above first.
Powerful drain attacks can be performed on staggered enemies, indicated by a red circle around the lock-on icon. Press the drain attack input (R2 or Left Ctrl + Left Mouse Click) to deal high damage and collect Ichor.
You can also continue attacking normally, but doing so will end the staggered state more quickly. It’s best to land one or two hits, then follow up with a Special Drain Attack.
