Dodge Effectiveness determines your Dodge Speed in Code Vein 2. Check out the mechanics of Dodge Effectiveness, and information about the three dodge speed levels in this guide.
Dodge Effectiveness determines the speed of how fast you can execute a dodge. Faster dodges let you navigate combat better, as it lets you chain dodges in quick succession, offering better combat flexibility.
| Speed | Mechanics |
|---|---|
| Fast | This is the fastest Dodge available, turning your Dodge into a short dash. It recovers the fastest and consumes the least stamina.
Requirement: Equipment Burden must be less than half of the relevant attribute. |
| Normal | The Standard Dodge, turning your Dodge into a roll with adequate recovery and moderate stamina consumption.
Requirement: Equipment burden must not exceed the relevant attribute, and no more than one overburdened attribute is allowed. |
| Slow | The worst dodge, as it turns your dodge into a slow-moving roll with the worst stamina consumption and slowest recovery.
Requirement: Two or more attributes are overburdened. |
There are three dodge levels: Slow, Normal, and Fast. The majority of builds will be utilizing the Normal Dodge, with some specific builds able to use the Fast Dodge by meeting the attribute requirements.
Due to the fast-paced combat of normal encounters as well as bosses, we highly recommend avoiding the Slow Dodge, as its slow animation can lead to enemy attacks still landing, as it prevents you from distancing yourself in time.
Its long recovery leaves you vulnerable to follow-up attacks. As such, we recommend managing your burden by using items such as Clotted Shield in order to avoid being overburdened.
