How to Beat Tainted Scout

Checkmark Parry His Melee Attacks
Checkmark Utilize Your Partner to Stagger

Parry His Melee Attacks

Most of the Tainted Scout's melee attacks are fairly simple and easily telegraphed due to their slow animations with the rune blades. We recommend equipping the Mutinous Bracer to parry his melee attacks as much as you can for big openings to deal damage.

Keep in mind that you can also make use of the Reaper Jail since the initial spin animation allows you to parry melee attacks as well.

How to Parry

Utilize Your Partner to Stagger

We highly recommend to bring out and summon your Partner Lyle as he can help draw aggro and stagger the Tainted Scout to cancel his aggressive attack combos. Once the boss is staggered, make sure deal a few melee attacks before you start executing your Drain Attack to maximize your damage output before he recovers.

You can find Tainted Scout at the Pioneer Castle in the Corroded Scar during the Slaying the Hero Lyle questline. Take note that this has to be in the 2178: The Hero Lyle's Era timeline in order for you to access the Tainted Scout boss fight.

Defeating Tainted Scout will drop 7,560 Haze that you can use to level up, upgrade your equipment, and buy items from merchants.
