Parrying in Code Vein 2 can only be done using formae with parrying capabilities. Learn how to Parry enemy attacks in the game as well as the effects of parrying enemies.

How to Parry Attacks

Use Actions Capable of Parrying

Parrying is not a default mechanic in the game. To use parries, you must use a formae or jail that has the capability to parry. An early game equipment with the parry option is the Mutinous Bracer that will be given to you by one of Jadwiga's minion near Magmell's training grounds.

Time Enemy Attacks with Your Parry Actions

Once you have a parry action, the next step is to use that action to parry an enemy attack. The Mutinous Bracer's parry takes a bit of a wind up before the deflection animation kicks in so time your parries to successfully deflect an attack.

Effects of Parrying

Stop an Enemy's Attack

Parrying will let you completely stop an enemy's attack. Take note that not all enemy attacks can be parried.

Deal High Stagger Damage

After parrying an enemy, you'll be able to deal a significant amount of stance damage. This will let you easily stagger an enemy and may be susceptible to a special drain attack.
