What Kind of Character Are They? | ・Weapon skill grants bonus stats, true damage based on Spd, and damage reduction on foe's first attack to unit during combat. |
Might: 12 Range: 2 If unit initiates combat or foe's Range = 2, grants Atk/Spd/Def/Res+4 to unit, deals damage = 15% of unit's Spd (excluding area-of-effect Specials), and reduces damage from foe's first attack by X% during combat (if it is unit's first combat initiated by unit or first combat initiated by foe that turn, X = 60; otherwise X = 30; "first attack" normally means only the first strike; for effects that grant "unit attacks twice," it means the first and second strikes). |
Range: 1 Unit moves 1 space away from target ally, who moves to unit’s former position. |
Grants bonus to Atk/Spd/Def/Res during combat = current bonus on each of unit’s stats. Calculates each stat bonus independently. |
At start of turn, if unit is adjacent to an ally, grants Atk/Spd+5 for 1 turn. |

Res (6) | ★★☆☆☆ |
◯ = Stat gains +4 with a superboon, ✕= Stat goes down by -4 with a superbane, - = No assets or flaws
See the IV Checker for All Units | Trait Fruits—How to Change IVs |
When using an Ascendant Floret, we recommend getting the next superboon if it fits the hero. If not, consider what stat your hero needs most.
As a hero obtainable only through Tempest Trials, Groom Alcryst will always have neutral IVs by default. The only way to access IVs for this unit is through using Trait Fruits.
The best IVs for Groom Alcryst are +Spd and -Res. Alcryst's Spd is a superboon and is competitive enough to hold his own against the fastest heroes in the metagame. Taking it as a boon improves his performance more than any other stat.
Alcryst's Res is below average and taking it as a boon won't impact any of his matchups.
We recommend +Spd when merging Groom Alcryst up to +10 to ensure he remains competitive against speedy foes.

Note: Stats bonuses from skills are not taken into account.
Groom Alcryst is a ranged physical attacker (range = 2). Therefore, when not accounting for the Weapon Triangle, the amount of damage he deals will be equivalent to his Atk minus the foe's Def stat.
Groom Alcryst's new inheritable weapon Harp Bow+ grants him Atk/Spd/Def/Res+4 during combat, bonus true damage equal to 15% of his Spd, and damage reduction on his foe's first attack (either 60% or 30% depending on combat order).
These effects are enough to make Harp Bow+ a usable weapon in today's metagame despite not being as good as exclusive or Arcane weapons.
Groom Alcryst suffers from not having any unique skills to call his own, making him unable to stand out amongst other units.
Fast bow units are not too hard to acquire in the game, and lacking an exclusive weapon makes Groom Alcryst replaceable by better units.
Should You Unlock Potential for this Hero? |
---|
We recommend that you use Unlock Potential to bring Alcryst - Tender Groom from 4 Stars to 5 Stars. Alcryst - Tender Groom is a very useful fast bow infantry, so we recommend you Unlock Potential for Alcryst - Tender Groom if your team lacks a strong fast bow infantry.

I still don't get the poll option to promote these tempest trial units to 5*, because u already get them as a 5* unit. It makes sense for the GHB heroes that we only get as 4*, but i imagine it's just a copy/paste poll? It should ask if they're worth receiving good skills via inheritance, and/or if they're worth using in serious gameplay modes, or something, maybe...? 🤷🏼♂️
