When fighting against Deathsquitos, always be sure to bring a ranged weapon since hitting them with melee weapons can be very difficult. A Deathsquito has very little health and can be killed in one hit by any weapon execpt the torch.
Dodging and parrying a Deathsquito's attacks can be fairly easy once you get used to it. Dodging makes you invincible for a generous amount of time and you can do this right before the Deathsquito's attack hits. This can help you run away from Deathsquitos since this method barely gives you time to attack them.
Dodging right before a Deathsquito's attack hits will not damage you. You can use this method to run away from Deathsquitos since this method doesn't give you time to attack them.
Parrying a Deathsquito's attack is very possible since the requirement is very low. You only need a Bronze Buckler in order to be able to parry a Deathsquito's attack. After a successful parry, you can kill them in one hit using any one handed weapon except the torch.
