There are three types of potions in the game, Potions, Splash Potions, and Lingering Potions.

Potions are for drinking, while Splash Potions and Lingering Potions are for throwing. Splash Potions are absorbed by target entities, while Lingering Potions create an effect cloud on the target location, and entities that pass the location will gain the effect.

How to Make a Potion of Harming

Place the Ingredients in a Brewing Stand

Place the Base on to any of the bottom slots in the Brewing Stand, and the Ingredient on to the top slot to create the Resulting Potion. The required fuel at the top left is Blaze Powder.

How to Use a Potion of Harming

Deal Some Damage To Your Target's Health

The Potion of Harming deals a significant amount of damage to a player or target instantly. This can be used in a variety of ways that will be advantageous in battles against mobs or other players. However, be aware that using this potion against undead mobs will heal them.

You can either drink a Potion of Harming, or you can throw a Splash or Lingering Potion of Harming to a desired location for the effect.
