Hostile Mobs are enemies and monsters that immediately attack any nearby player in Minecraft once they are spotted. Read on to see a list of all the hostile mobs in the game, the different types of hostile mobs, and what dimension they are found.

Undead Mobs comprise of the many zombie and skeleton variants in the game. Most of these burn up when exposed to sunlight, but there are a few exemptions. They also take additional damage from weapons enchanted with Smite.

There are only two variants of the creeper, the standard Creeper that spawns in the overword, and the Charged Creeper which is significantly more powerful and spaws when a creeper is struck by lightning.

Illagers are the hostile counterpart of villagers. They are instantly hostile to all villagers and players they encounter. You can often find them near outposts, inside woodland mansions, or during raids.

Aquatic Mobs can only be found underwater, often lurking inside Ocean Monuments. They can attack the player with lasers even while you're on a boat, so there is little safety out in the deep sea.

Mob Jockeys are mobs that are riding other mobs. These are rarer than your typical mob and have abilities that are a combination of the two mobs. If one of the mobs is killed, the other mob separates and becomes its own entity.

Underground Mobs are found below the surface, mostly in underground biomes, with some only to be found in certain underground blocks.

Nether Mobs are usually only found in the nether dimension with a few unique exemptions. Many nether mobs are only found in specific biomes or inside Nether Fortresses.

End Mobs are usually found in the end or are spawned in other dimensions with with end items like Ender Pearls. Many end mobs also have the ability to teleport or appear out of thin air.

Boss Mobs are incredibly powerful mobs that you cannot encounter normally in the world. A boss health bar will usually appear at the top of your screen when you approach a boss mob.
