There are 85 Advancements to complete in the Java Edition. Advancements are divided into five categories: Minecraft with 12 Advancements, Husbandry with 20, Adventure with 25, Nether with 21, and The End with 7.

What are Advancements and Achievements?

New players can use the Advancements and Achievements system to learn the basics of the game, as well as help discover all of the content the game has to offer. These are obtained by completing specific objectives.

Other than additional challenges and knowledge, some Achievements (for the Bedrock Edition) also reward players with emotes and items they can use to customize their characters.
