There are three types of potions in the game, Potions, Splash Potions, and Lingering Potions.

Potions are for drinking, while Splash Potions and Lingering Potions are for throwing. Splash Potions are absorbed by target entities, while Lingering Potions create an effect cloud on the target location, and entities that pass the location will gain the effect.

How to Make a Potion of Regeneration

Place the Ingredients in a Brewing Stand

Brewing Stand Slots
Place the Base on to any of the bottom slots in the Brewing Stand, and the Ingredient on to the top slot to create the Resulting Potion. The required fuel at the top left is Blaze Powder.

How to Use a Potion of Regeneration

Restore Your Health Over Time

Regeneration slowly heals your health and add to your hearts for a brief amount of time. Drinking the Potion of Regeneration can be useful when you are in a fight against stronger mobs where you need to continually heal from constant damage. Be aware that undead mobs are immune both to poison and regeneration.

You can either drink a Potion of Regeneration, or you can throw a Splash or Lingering Potion of Regeneration to a desired location for the effect.
