There are three types of potions in the game, Potions, Splash Potions, and Lingering Potions.

Potions are for drinking, while Splash Potions and Lingering Potions are for throwing. Splash Potions are absorbed by target entities, while Lingering Potions create an effect cloud on the target location, and entities that pass the location will gain the effect.

How to Make a Potion of Slowness

Place the Ingredients in a Brewing Stand

Place the Base on to any of the bottom slots in the Brewing Stand, and the Ingredient on to the top slot to create the Resulting Potion. The required fuel at the top left is Blaze Powder.

How to Use a Potion of Slowness

Reduce the Speed of Your Target

Slowness is an effect that decreases the normal walking speed of a player or mob. This can come in handy when the Potion of Slowness is used on other entities for your own self-defense, escape, or even attack advantage.

You can either drink a Potion of Slowness, or you can throw a Splash or Lingering Potion of Slowness to a desired location for the effect.
