Overworld Spawn

Glow Squids can spawn anywhere in the extreme depths of the Overworld so long as there is water and light is scarce.

Glow Squid Behavior

Aimlessly Swimming Underwater

Glow Squids being passive mobs, just swim aimlessly when left alone. They are easily noticable underwater due to their luminous body.

Temporarily Loses its Glow When Attacked

When a Glow Squids are attacked, it will release glow ink and will temporarily lose its glow as it flees from the player.

After a few seconds, the Glow Squid will light up again and continue swimming aimlessly.

Takes Damage on Land

Just like most aquatic mobs, Glow Squids take damage when exposed to land. However, unlike Fish mobs and Tadpoles, Glow Squids will not try to jump its way back to the nearest water block and will instead just take damage until it loses all its health.
