The main difference between Honkai: Star Rail and Genshin Impact is their combat mechanics.
Honkai: Star Rail's combat focuses on turn-based strategy similar to most traditional JRPGs, while Genshin Impact features real-time action combat similar to The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild.
You can defeat enemies in Honkai: Star Rail by using an Elemental Type they're weak to. Genshin Impact on the other hand, requires the use of a combination of two elements to trigger Elemental Reactions to defeat enemies in a shorter amount of time.
