---|---|---|---|
Hero | Warrior | Mage | Priest |
Post Job-Change Party | |||
Hero | Warrior | Warrior | Sage |
This is the standard party composition that has a good balance of damage, defense, and healing. This is ideal for players who want to clear everything in the game.
Later once you can change a character's vocation, you'll want to change your Mage into a Warrior for tankiness, and your Priest into a Sage for damaging spells. Make sure you only do this after the Mage has learned all their spells so that it carries over when they become a Warrior.

---|---|---|---|
Hero | Warrior | Thief | Mage |
Post Job-Change Party | |||
Hero | Warrior | Sage | Warrior |
This team composition is commonly used in speedrunning and is ideal for players who want to complete the game as fast as possible. You'll be reliant on Items and the Hero for healing until you can change your Thief into a Sage.
Once you reach the Dharma Temple, you'll want to wait for your Mage to be level 21 before changing vocations so that they can learn Oomph before becoming a Warrior.
Starting Party | |||
---|---|---|---|
Hero | Martial Artist | Mage | Gadabout |
Post Job-Change Party | |||
Hero | Sage | Sage | Sage |
Final Party | |||
Hero | Martial Artist | Martial Artist | Thief |
This is the strongest possible team that you can make, but it has a very weak early game since you're relatively squishy, reliant on healing from the Hero or Items, and you're using a Gadabout.
Once you can change vocations, you become extremely strong since you can run 3 Sages alongside the Hero. However, you'll need to get 2 Zen Scrolls for your Martial Artist and Mage, which can be found in the Garuna Tower and Rimuldar.
After your Sages have learned all the spells that they can learn, you'll want to change them into 2 Martial Artists and a Thief for their defenses and utility respectively. Alternatively, you can use Warriors instead of Martial Artists if you have enough armor pieces to equip them with.
