What Does the Luck Stat Do?
Determines How Often You Dodge Debuffs or Status Ailments
Your Luck determines the likelihood of debuffs and status ailments to hit you during battle with monsters. Having a high luck stat means that you can avoid being inflicted with negative effects that are casted by monsters.
Each status ailment inflicted by enemies has an assigned base accuracy that is affected by your Luck stat, with Dazzle and Deceleratle at the highest base accuracy.
Determines How Often Critical Hits Happen
Your Luck stat also determines how often critical hits happen in battle. These are best for classes like Martial Artist, who already have the best chance for critial hits combined with their very high Strength stat makes it a powerhouse in combat.
Gadabout Has the Highest Luck Job
The Gadabout has the highest Luck stat out of all the Vocations in Dragon Quest 3. They have the ability to dodge a lot of the debilitating effects of these status ailments in exchange for the player losing control of them briefly during combat.
The Gadabout class is the only Vocation that can turn into the Sage class without any needed assistance from the Words of Wisdom item.
