When you start Dragon Quest 3 HD-2D Remake (DQ3), you can choose between two genders, marked as Appearance A or Appearance B. See if it's possible to change the appearance or gender of your character later in the game here!

In Dragon Quest 3, you can't change the gender or appearance of the character you've created once you start the game.
However, You Can Create New Characters in Rudia's Tavern
In Rudia's Tavern, you can register and create new characters. So if you want a character opposite from the one you created, you need to reach this location first.

Best to Start With Female (Appearance B)
The best gender to start the game with is female, designated as Appearance B in the menu.
It's because the Female-exclusive Personality, Vamp, which provides the best stat rates in the game, as well as having access to Shimmering Dress, which is the strongest Female-exclusive armor.
