How to Beat Xenlon in 15 Turns

Wear Spell and Breath Resistant Gear

Outside of three physical attacks, Xenlon will use a ton of Spell and Breath attacks during the fight. To counter this, you'll want to make sure that your entire party is equipped with gear that resists Spell and Breath attacks.

Also, you'll still want to have a balanced defense stat since Belly Flop and Bite can deal massive damage if you're solely focused on defending against Spells and Breath attacks.

List of Spell and Breath Resistant Equipment

Equipment Location Price
Flame Shield Immigrant Town 9,600 G
Asbestos Earrings 10,500 G
Anti-Freeze Earrings 3,300 G
Dragon Shield Tantegel 6,200 G
Dragon Mail 13,800 G
Dragon Dojo Duds Kol 31,500 G
Flowing Dress 26,000 G
Shimmering Dress Zoma's Citadel -
Dragon Robe Aliahan 90 Mini Medals
Goddess Shield 100 Mini Medals
Hero's Shield Talontear Tunnel -
Auroral Armour Tower of Rubiss -

The Hero's Shield and Auroral Armour are Hero-exclusive equipment.

List of Equipment

Have the Hero as Your Main Healer

For this fight, you want to use the Hero as a support rather than an attacker. This is because their damage output is weaker than the rest of the party, and they have access to the powerful Omniheal spell to fully recover everyone's HP.

For turns where your team hasn't taken significant damage yet, use the Sage's Stone instead to preserve your MP.

Hero Job Class and Best Personality

Attack With Wild Side Monster Pile-Ons

Since Xenlon has a high defense stat, you'll want to use Monster Pile-On as your main source of damage and bypass it. Make sure that you combo it with the Wild Side buff so that the attack is used twice per turn.

Watch For Disruptive Wave Turns

Before using Wild Side, you'll want to check first if Xenlon will use Disruptive Wave on the same turn. The goal is to defeat Xenlon before the time limit, and you can't waste a single turn having a newly casted Wild Side dispelled.

If Xenlon will use Disruptive Wave on the turn you need to re-apply Wild Side, just attack with a single Monster Pile-On and cast the buff next turn instead.

Bring Ways to Wake Up Allies

Eventually, Xenlon will use Lullab-Eye to force a party member to sleep. You'll need to wake them up immediately, so make sure the Hero brings and uses the Sunstone as your means of waking party members up.

If your Hero needs to cast Omniheal on a turn where a party member's asleep, you'll want to have backup options, like Sobering Slap and Cock-a-Doodle-Doo, on your other characters.
