How to Beat Ripper of the Rift

Prepare Multiple Healing Methods

Bring Multiple Healing Methods
The Ripper of the Rift like to use AoE attacks like Woosh and Swoosh, and if multiple party members are low on HP, your main healer might have a hard time keeping up. Make sure to bring extra healing methods, like Medicinal Herbs, so the rest of the party can contribute to healing.

Defeat the Kyllas First

Kill the Kyllas First
It's recommended to prioritize killing off the Kyllas first since they can disrupt your team by putting party members to sleep. If the majority of your party members are asleep, there's a high chance that your team will just get wiped.

Ripper Will Use Swoosh if They're Alone

Ripper of the Rift Swoosh
Be careful when killing off the Kyllas since the Ripper of the Rift will start casting Swoosh if they're the last one alive. Make sure to either put it to sleep or seal its spells so that it doesn't cast this powerful Wind spell.

Use Fizzle to Seal Spells

Fizzle Effect
Since the Ripper of the Rift likes to use spells such as Dazzle, Woosh, and Kaswoosh, it's highly recommended to cast Fizzle on them. This way, half of their movepool will be sealed and they will waste turns trying to cast spells.

Purchase a Staff of Antimagic in Ibis

Purchase Staff of Antimagic
Alternatively, you can purchase a Staff of Antimagic that casts Fizzle when used as an item in battle. If you have extra gold to spare, do this instead so that you can save your MP.

Put Enemies to Sleep

Sleepy Slap
As a note, the enemies can be put to sleep either by the Snooze spell or attacks that have a sleep effect, like the Thief's Sleepy Slap. However, there's always a chance for these to fail and it shouldn't be heavily relied upon.

Get a Snooze Stick from the Underground Lake

Snooze Stick
Similar to the Staff of Antimagic, you can use a Snooze Stick as an item to cast Snooze on the Ripper of the Rift. If you don't have one, you can backtrack to the Underground Lake and get it from a chest on the third floor.

Use Lightning Attacks

Use the Hero
Both the Ripper of the Rift and the Kyllas are weak to Lightning attacks from the Hero. If you don't need them to heal the party, use them as your main damage dealer.
